The air is still brisk, but the sun is shining, the time has changed, and we officially welcome spring tomorrow. The change of seasons adds renewed vitality to our hallways. The spring production Night Night, Roger Roger was cast beautifully, and the audience was treated to a glimpse of the world after midnight through the eyes of each character. It was fun and thoughtful, allowing our actors to show their strengths. Congratulations to all involved in the production.
Spring sports have begun. The teams are practicing hard to prepare for their busy schedules when we return from break. A reminder that school will be closed on Monday, April 8 to allow families to enjoy the eclipse without the anticipated headaches of travel in WNY. If you live in the neighborhood and would like to watch the eclipse from Larkin Field, email Ann More amore@chinaqinyu.com. Please bring your own protective glasses.
Have a safe and relaxing break from school. The sprint to the finish line begins when we return. Helen |
On Wednesday morning it was announced to the entire school that it would be a Head’s Day Off! School was canceled?! Well, almost…
All students, faculty, and staff loaded buses and headed to the North Park Theatre to see the movie Cabrini. Cabrini was filmed in Buffalo and was just released on March 8 for International Women’s Day. It is the story of Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini. She steps foot in America in 1889, and she is greeted by disease, crime, and impoverished children living in New York’s slums. Armed with a fearless spirit and a compassionate heart, Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince the hostile mayor to secure housing and healthcare for society’s most vulnerable. Despite broken English and poor health, Cabrini leverages her entrepreneurial mind to build an empire of hope, unlike anything the world had ever seen.
After the movie, we came back to 十大彩票平台, where we had lunch, played games, had a silent disco, sang karaoke, and enjoyed the day without classes. Thank you, Mrs. Marlette and Mrs. More, for planning this wonderful day and for giving everyone a much-needed day of fun! Lindsay Mathias

Night Night, Roger Roger
....by Lindsay Mathias
Our 2024 Spring Play, Night Night, Roger Roger by Roni Ragone was a fantastic, imaginative, and thought provoking show! The cast and crew did an amazing job and were even so lucky to have playwright Roni Ragone drive to Buffalo for the Saturday night performance. |
It has been called a “delightful, starry, night of jesters" type of play (which) is the medicine we need to heal us.
It's midnight, but that doesn't mean the world slows down. Night Night, Roger Roger is a comedic fanciful play about the world after the sun goes down. Roller skating Nanas, kids with tin cans, literary obsessed vampires, clumsy security guards,
kids without tin cans, quirky game show hosts, and more.
This play is a plea for every person to stop growing up so fast. Take your moment with the universe and enjoy it.
See photos from the performance here.
